Planning applications

Planning activity around W6

  • 1 x Pine Tree - rear garden - (Cross reference with application P/2026/01048/TREE - tree height reduced) . Fell as low as possible. In small, raised flower bed, which is shallow because it sits above a basement car park between two buildings. As a result, the tree is unlikely to have developed a substantial root system, as there is limited space for the roots to spread. The tree has already caused cracking and bowing to the retaining wall, which is likely to fail eventually if the pressure continues. The recent reduction in height has helped to reduce wind loading on the tree for the time being; however, there remains a high risk of failure, particularly if the retaining wall deteriorates further or fails.

Whilst this will look bare initially, the regrowth can be trimmed into a more manageable 'lollipop' shape. - reduce lateral growth back to boundary - remove two stems that growing towards the fence, to prevent future damage to the boundary fence

The last column is the band's annual charge divided by the W6 median sold price — a comparison of two published figures, not a rate anyone charges. It is not a mapping from price to band: a band records what a home was worth on 1 April 1991 and is set by the Valuation Office Agency, so it cannot be worked out from a 2020s sale price. Look up a specific band on GOV.UK. Instalment counts vary by authority, so the monthly column is simply the year over twelve.

Questions, answered

The W6 report: your questions

What is the average house price in W6?
The median sold price in W6, Hammersmith and Fulham was £660,000 across 250 recorded sales between 6 Oct 2025 and 20 Jul 2026. Most sales fell between £313,207 and £1,502,325. That is the median of real HM Land Registry transactions, not an estimate or a valuation.
How much is council tax in W6?
W6 is billed by Hammersmith and Fulham, whose Band D charge for 2026-27 is £1,520 a year. Every band from A to H is listed on this page. A property's band is set by the Valuation Office Agency and there is no free per-address dataset for it, so we never guess an individual home's band — look it up on GOV.UK and read your row.
Which schools are near W6?
The Department for Education's register lists 8 open schools within 3 km of the W6 district centre, the nearest being St Paul's CofE Primary School (last Ofsted grade: Outstanding). These are nearest by straight-line distance from the district centroid — they are not catchment or admission areas, which councils set individually and do not publish centrally.
Is W6 a deprived area?
On the English Indices of Deprivation 2025, the 12 W6 postcodes we sampled run from decile 3 to decile 9, with a median of decile 6 of 10 — where 1 is among the most deprived 10% of England and 10 the least deprived. Deprivation is published for small areas, not postcode districts, so a district like W6 usually spans several. It is area context, never a judgement on an individual home.
Have there been planning applications near W6?
The last check of the local planning authority register found 5505 applications within 500 m of the W6 district centre; the most recent are listed on this page with their reference, description and status as the authority published them. For an up-to-the-minute search, use the planning tool with your full postcode.
Can I see what an individual address in W6 sold for?
Yes — this page lists the 24 most recently sold doors of the 227 distinct addresses in the records we hold for W6, each with its price and date. Addresses come from recorded sales since 1995, so a home that has never been sold does not appear; and we link an address to its own property page only where the match is certain, never by guessing.
How up to date are the W6 sold prices?
Sold prices come from HM Land Registry Price Paid Data, covering sales up to 31 July 2026. The store is rebuilt monthly. New sales can take several weeks to appear in the official register after completion, so the very latest transactions may not show yet.
Does W6 cover my exact street?
W6 is the outward half of the postcode and covers the whole district, so the district-wide figures on this page are medians and ranges — not a valuation of any single property. The address list gives you the door-level picture, and the free checks take a full postcode.
