Planning applications

Planning activity around NG3

  • Tree 1, mature multi stem Conifer. We would wish to sectional fell to ground level. Though growing from Hine Hall ,the tree has repeatedly had its lower crown removed over the property on Stonepit Close. Currently the main trunk is bare to approximately 10ft from ground level, though the ground level drops approx' another 15ft to the rear of the Stonepit close properties and the bare section looks more from their perspective. The tree has shed branches up to 50mm diameter onto the Stonepit property No' 9, and I have observed failed branches hanging in the crown. Also the residents of the Close are complaining of lack of light and tree detritus falling in their rear gardens. Due to the historic removal of the lower crown, a crown reduction would make an already poor specimen look worse. Both this tree and T2 cannot be seen from the Hine Hall property and any works done are purely for the benefit of the Stonepit Close residents.

  • Tree 2, Late juvenile self set Muti stem Sycamore. We wish to remove back to the main trunk/ appropriate point, roughly 6 reaching branches from above the rear of properties on Stonepit Close. This is to clear the tree from encroaching on the rear of the properties.

    Received 2026-07-13

  • TPO79 - Silver Birch - Felling of tree. Reasons: 1. The tree is situated very close to the house and has led to ongoing issues with squirrels and other wildlife accessing the roof and, more recently, entering the property. Its dense canopy also significantly reduces natural daylight to both the house and garden. 2. The tree's roots have displaced the adjacent pathway and paving slabs, creating a trip hazard and making the area more difficult to maintain. Continued root growth is likely to cause further damage over time. 3. TPO79 is located only a few metres from two larger protected trees, TPO78 and TPO80, whose crowns and branches already overlap with it. Removing TPO79 would reduce competition for space, light, water and nutrients, while retaining the overall tree cover and amenity value of the area. See case for more details.

NG3 5HW, the sampled postcode sitting at that median: On the English Indices of Deprivation 2025, this postcode falls in decile 4 of 10 — where 1 is among the most deprived 10% of England and 10 the least deprived. It's area context for the wider neighbourhood, not a judgement on any individual home.

Contains public sector information licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0 (English Indices of Deprivation 2025, MHCLG). Deprivation is published for small areas (LSOAs), not for postcode districts, so NG3 spans several. We sampled 12 postcodes in NG3 that have recorded sales and 12 returned a row. It is context for the neighbourhood, never a judgement on any individual home.

The last column is the band's annual charge divided by the NG3 median sold price — a comparison of two published figures, not a rate anyone charges. It is not a mapping from price to band: a band records what a home was worth on 1 April 1991 and is set by the Valuation Office Agency, so it cannot be worked out from a 2020s sale price. Look up a specific band on GOV.UK. Instalment counts vary by authority, so the monthly column is simply the year over twelve.

Questions, answered

The NG3 report: your questions

What is the average house price in NG3?
The median sold price in NG3, Gedling was £200,000 across 250 recorded sales between 14 Jan 2026 and 24 Jul 2026. Most sales fell between £114,900 and £387,000. That is the median of real HM Land Registry transactions, not an estimate or a valuation.
How much is council tax in NG3?
NG3 is billed by Gedling, whose Band D charge for 2026-27 is £2,610 a year. Every band from A to H is listed on this page. A property's band is set by the Valuation Office Agency and there is no free per-address dataset for it, so we never guess an individual home's band — look it up on GOV.UK and read your row.
Which schools are near NG3?
The Department for Education's register lists 8 open schools within 3 km of the NG3 district centre, the nearest being The Wells Academy (last Ofsted grade: Requires improvement). These are nearest by straight-line distance from the district centroid — they are not catchment or admission areas, which councils set individually and do not publish centrally.
Is NG3 a deprived area?
On the English Indices of Deprivation 2025, the 12 NG3 postcodes we sampled run from decile 1 to decile 10, with a median of decile 4 of 10 — where 1 is among the most deprived 10% of England and 10 the least deprived. Deprivation is published for small areas, not postcode districts, so a district like NG3 usually spans several. It is area context, never a judgement on an individual home.
Have there been planning applications near NG3?
The last check of the local planning authority register found 299 applications within 500 m of the NG3 district centre; the most recent are listed on this page with their reference, description and status as the authority published them. For an up-to-the-minute search, use the planning tool with your full postcode.
Can I see what an individual address in NG3 sold for?
Yes — this page lists the 24 most recently sold doors of the 246 distinct addresses in the records we hold for NG3, each with its price and date. Addresses come from recorded sales since 1995, so a home that has never been sold does not appear; and we link an address to its own property page only where the match is certain, never by guessing.
How up to date are the NG3 sold prices?
Sold prices come from HM Land Registry Price Paid Data, covering sales up to 31 July 2026. The store is rebuilt monthly. New sales can take several weeks to appear in the official register after completion, so the very latest transactions may not show yet.
Does NG3 cover my exact street?
NG3 is the outward half of the postcode and covers the whole district, so the district-wide figures on this page are medians and ranges — not a valuation of any single property. The address list gives you the door-level picture, and the free checks take a full postcode.
